Toxins which remain trapped within the body can trigger ill health.  Keeping our system in good working order helps ensure that our bodies are at a healthy level. Constipation often conquers the best of us at one time or another, but when constipation becomes a recurring problem, it can lead to weight gain, as well as stress.  Oh, and by the way, stress can also lead to weight gain.

A few reasons how constipation contributes to weight gain:

 

  • Waste weighs heavily!  When the intestines aren't doing their job, waste may become impacted thus creating even more serious constipation issues.

 

  • Fiber, such as contained in bran, helps put the intestines in balance.  Without adequate fiber intake, waste has little to lock onto so that it can be pushed from the system.  Without adequate dietary fiber, weight gain may ensue.

 

  • Constipation makes a body feel absolutely irritable and quite miserable.  When we don't feel well, we tend to reach for something to make us feel better and often times, that something is one of our favorite goodies.
